MARSH CREEK EAGLES FOOTBALL AND CHEER

We Are Marsh Creek!

Welcome to Marsh Creek Cheer!

Welcome to the Marsh Creek Eagles!

Marsh Creek Eagles Fall Cheer
The Marsh Creek Eagles are proud members of the Pop Warner Little Scholars and Bux-Mont organizations. Pop Warner is a nonprofit organization that provides youth football and cheer & dance programs for participants in 42 states and several countries around the world. Pop Warner Spirit teams have participated for several decades on the football sidelines (Pep Squads, Majorettes, etc.); however, cheerleading as we know it was officially introduced in the 1970’s. Today, thousands of youth participate in Pop Warner Cheerleading and Dance teams around the United States. The Cheer and Dance Program offers teams a wide range of opportunity for young athletes at all skill levels: Novice, Intermediate and Advanced.

The Marsh Creek Eagles cheerleading offers a great experience for kids who want to cheer for a team and also participate in exhibitions or competitions. Our focus is on fun and physical fitness as we develop skills that will allow many to continue cheering for years to come. March Creek Cheer members will learn not only cheers, dance, tumbling and routines but also gain friendships and learn camaraderie with their teammates.  Our younger ages have the chance to learn cheer at a non-competitive level while our older girls have the chance to not only learn cheer but compete with the chance of moving on to Regional and Nationals Competitions. Marsh Creek Cheer will begin the season cheering for our respective football teams. Most games are held on Saturday's (some Sundays) and we do occasionally travel locally.

Our MCE family aims to create a positive environment where girls can be themselves and have fun while learning teamwork, self-discipline, sportsmanship and perseverance, all while learning and perfecting their cheer skills.

During the traditional season, our cheerleaders will cheer on the sideline for football games (usually 8-10 games) and also learn a routine to perform at Showcase and BuxMont Competition (October). For competitive teams, if they place in the top tier for their category and division at BuxMont, they will have the opportunity to advance to Pop Warner Eastern Regionals (November) and possibly Pop Warner Nationals (December in Charlotte).

Cheer team categories are based on the Pop Warner age guidelines and the cheerleader's age as of July 31st. The breakdown of possible cheer teams are as follows:

Non-Competitive Teams
Cubs - Ages 5 & 6
Tiny Mites - Ages 6 & 7
Challenger - All Ages

Competitive Teams
Mighty Mites - Ages 7-9
Jr. Pee Wee - Ages 8-11
Pee Wee - Ages 9-12
Junior Varsity - Ages 10-13

Team Placements:
All cheerleaders will be placed on teams in August based on age and the number of athletes registered in the program.

Practice Schedule:
All teams are required to participate in 10 hours of conditioning prior to the start of the traditional practice season. Conditioning is typically the first three full weeks in August, Monday-Thursday in the evenings. Following conditioning all non-competitive cheer teams will practice two nights per week (once school starts). Competitive teams may practice a third day weekly. August practices are held at Fellowship Fields. Beginning in September, cheer teams will move to indoor practice space upon availability.

What's Included in the Registration Fee?
In an effort to simplify the registration process and lower the overall cost our families incur during the season: we have rolled elements of the seasonal fees into one flat cost. The Marsh Creek Eagles are a 100% volunteer organization, no one involved is being paid for their time. Registration fees go to cover the costs of Uniforms, field/practice facility rentals, lights, insurance, national dues, league fees, music licenses for routines, Competition fees, equipment replacement and repair.

In addition, registration fees cover:
  • Uniforms (except shoes, they will need to be purchased separately)
  • MCE insurance coverage
  • Practice location fees*
  • 50 Spirit Day Raffle Tickets - Each athlete will receive $500 worth of Spirit Day raffle tickets that they can sell to offset their registration fee (you keep the money from the sale of your tickets).

*If a team advances to Nationals, additional fees will be collected to cover practice space costs after Regionals.

Family Discount: All registrations for the season, after your first two children (Cheer or Football) will receive a discount on the regular cost.

Refund Policy: All cancellations after June 1st will have the refund reduced by $250 for the custom uniform cost. If notification has been received prior to the first practice - 100% Refund, during the first calendar week of practice - 75% Refund, during the second calendar week of practice - 50% Refund, and during the third calendar week of practice – No Refund

Spirit wear:
While not required, many of our cheerleaders enjoy the opportunity to purchase MCE Cheer warm-up jackets, backpack, and other spirit wear available throughout the season.

Expectations:
Since cheerleading is a team sport, the team only succeeds when everyone is in attendance. Therefore, 100% attendance is expected at practices and games unless there is an approved absence (illness/pre-planned family event). Appropriate behavior, respect, and sportsmanship is expected at all times.
